Madness in Davos, Lawlessness in Minneapolis

Dear Leader pulled a TACO in Davos, putting an end to speculation over the US invading Greenland - at least, for now. And Karoli today introduced us all to her daughter’s adorable dog, Tako - who isn’t scary at all.

Trump’s speech before world leaders yesterday was bonkers - even for him. And as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made clear this weekend, the predictable Western world order that centered US power (and benefited American peace and prosperity) is now over. 

Other topics this week include:

• Brendan Carr’s new imposition of equal time rules for politicians booked on late night and daytime talk shows (which sounds a little like the old Fairness Doctrine, if one did not suspect that it would be enforced less than equally)
• ICE’s continuing siege of Minneapolis (and now Maine) - and how each time they hit another region, their tactics become even more fascist (i.e., claiming they have the right to enter any home without a judicial warrant - in blatant violation of our Fourth Amendment rights)
• Jack Smith’s testimony today before the House Judiciary Committee.
